Still In Bowling Green…May 13 2011
This break has been way too long. I’m itching to get back on the road. Think I might lose it if I’m home-bound one more day. The good news is we’ll be hitting that dusty trail for a month straight starting with my boys in Cage the Elephant and a band I have yet to meet but already LOVE, Manchester Orchestra. I’m actually giving their new album my first listen right now while writing this. They’re streaming the whole thing here: http://www.columbiarecords.com/simplemath/ I’m already stoked 30 seconds in. And if you think for a second I’m not going to be out in their crowd every night on this tour, well you’re very very wrong. After these dates will be doing some shows on the east coast (finally!) with Company of Thieves (who must like the movie Rushmore even more than my 18-year-old-girl self judging from their video.)
SORRY – Have to interrupt my own babbling to mention that this album is just plain awesome. Andy is just so damn great with his lyrics. Simple Math. I’m blown away. Go listen for yourself.
Alrighty, I’m gonna head out and try to scrape up some cash to go to the zoo today with Tony, Lee, and Scott.
Yes, the zoo. That’s how bored I am being at home. See? Time to get back to touring.
New Video for “Get It Daddy”Apr 26 2011
Road RecoveryApr 16 2011
Tony here. After a 48-hour straight shot from Tucson, AZ to the motherland (Bowling Green, KY), we said our groggy goodbyes and I fell comatose for about 15 hours. Well, the past two weeks were a blast and now I feel hungover from the road. It’s cloudy, cold and wet here; Gimme SUNSHINE! We’ve got a lot of things coming up this month: 7″ vinyl single for “Get it Daddy”, Bamboozle festival, unofficial video for “Get it Daddy” and something about chocolate and bunnies is happening too.
The second leg of our tour was great. The people were great. The crews were great. The cities were great. The food was (sometimes) great. We made good friends with the fellas from Biffy Clyro and will miss them dearly. I’m still pretty exhausted, so, I’ll make this short. But, I’d like to mention a new fast-friend of ours: Ashley-Jayne and her blog, Vinyl Sea, who did a nice feature on us and Cage the Elephant for our Tulsa show. So, check it out.
Now, to fight exhaustion, we’re going to hit up this new Thai place in Bowling Green (enthusiastically named: “ThaiThai”, not shitting you).
Hello InternetApr 05 2011
Just leaving “Smashville”, NC and heading to “Foxville”, TN. Currently passing a bunch of rocks and trees and mountains. Justin is screaming out Zach Galifianakis jokes, Lee still has red hair, Scott is impersonating a weasel, Tony is trying to digest Burger King, Josh is just chillin, and I’m here sharing this exciting news with you, Internet. Tour is going great with Cage and Biffy Clyro. Nothing like being taught how to properly punch a bloke by Scottish men. That’s all for now, Internet. Until next time we’ll be rambling on the Twatter. Tweeter. Twitter. @_SLEEPERAGENT. Oh and check out what Spin said about our tour with Cage the Elephant.
